Big Events Security

I just thought I would post these for everyone to see it means to be Security for one hour during the Big Events set-up time. They gave my friend Chelsea and me t-shirts, name tags, and these glasses to wear and to watch two doors to make sure no-one gets in. EC at its best?!

Cervantes

This is Miguel de Cervantes...he is the best fish. Lauren and I co-adopted him when I went home for Mid-Term break and he lives with me until I go to Italy and then he lives with Lauren. Notice he has a 'No Pescar' sign...thats 'No Fishing' in Spanish...because he's a fish with a Spanish name and a Spanish sign :-)

Octagon Fair Bookstore Sale

Today was Octagon Fair - the Elmira College Homecoming. The day starts with a BIG sale at the bookstore....and here are some pictures I took while waiting in line. It is like Black Friday in and about a 40 foot space!

Fall Convocation

Last week was the Fall Convocation - where all of the top scholarship winners were recognized. It was REALLY boring - they called over 100 people up on stage and gave biographies of them all! But, we all had to go to officially accept our scholarships, and I got this cool medal! And - here is a picture of Donna and me - honorable mention to Donna because I never remember my camera and steal lots of her pictures!

Mountain Day Singing

This week has been Mountain Day singing week - where we all meet up outside the President's House and sing and chant to try and get a day off from classes. No luck so far, but it has been a LOT of fun. My dorm won the competition the second night for having the most people. And last night the Spectacular Class of 2011 won class night - beating the seniors who have won 3 years in a row!! Here are som pictures of the crowds, and of me with some friends!!

Foam Dance Party

Foam Dance Party was Friday Night. More-or-less, it is a giant inflatable pool that there is a large foam maker at the top of. Everyone dances around in the foam and has a great time! After, everyone is all slimey and nasty and going and gets in the fountain!

Orientation Pictures

Here are pictures from Orientation. When we got here Thursday the entire campus was covered in balloons - 15000 balloons. And here are some random pictures of friends and other stuff! Orientation ended Sunday, and classes are now in full swing.

Crazy Adventure

Lauren and I went hiking up to Nine Corners Lake - mostly so we could do the rope swing and we had a small picnic! One reason why the Adirondacks are the best place ever.

Elmira College

I recently went down to Elmira for my last check-in day, and officially enrolled - I am now the Elmira College Class of 2011. I remembered to take some pictures while I was there. There is one of a dormitory. The pond-ish looking body of water is the puddle, and all the building surrounding are academic buildings. The small

octagon building is the Mark Twain study. The stage is where I will begin and start at Elmira - my orientation on one side, and graduation on the next. And lastly, the purple/gold school bus. Those are Elmira's colors and they are EVERYWHERE on campus!

Lunar Eclipse

I went outside just in time for the lunar eclipse last night. the one you can see it very well, in the other one, if you look hard and in the center, there is the moon!

Donkey Basketball 2007

Annual Srs. v Faculty Donkey Basketball Game. It was a lot of fun! I had two crazy donkeys, one that wouldnt sit still, and one that wouldnt move! But, I only fell off once!
