Teach for America - ACCEPTANCE!

After weeks of fine-tuning my letter of intent, hours of resume critiques, and then days of interview preparation - I received the best news on Tuesday afternoon: I've been offered a position in the Teach for America corp!!

I have been placed in the Mississippi Delta region as a high school Spanish teacher :) The Mississippi Delta region includes Mississippi and Arkansas.

The crazy part: I graduate from Elmira College on June 5th, and the induction service starts on June 8th - a pretty quick turnaround! From Elmira, NY to Cleveland, MS is about an 18 hour drive.

But, between now and then I have some work to do - passing teacher certification tests and observing some locals teachers in their classrooms.

This is sure to be an experience of a lifetime, and I am so excited to be on board America's largest movement to end educational inequality!
